Food Glorious Food!

20160904_182900_wm.jpgWith Christmas just around the corner all attention seems to go to food and what is any celebration without food? My Holiday Catalogue Launch Party is tomorrow night so today I’ve been busy preparing a demonstration or two, a make ‘n’ take, displays and gifts.

And these items are perfect for this week’s Global Design Project #051 | Theme Challenge  – Food!GDP051 Theme.jpgThe Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper is designed around treats especially gingerbread houses and is used in my make and take card. It is an easy one – apart from the fussy cutting of the gingerbread house which I pre-cut for my guests. The card I’ll demonstrate will be more complicated. I’ll also demonstrate how to make the Ferrero Rocher holder – isn’t it cute? And the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine and the Mini Jingle Bells packaged on the Lots of Labels Framelit is an attendee gift.

I’m so excited to be showing the new Holiday Catalogue and getting my customers in the Christmas spirit!20160904_182517_wm.jpg

A New Challenge!

20160828_145640_wm.jpgToday I’ve made a couple of baby cards for a challenge over at Stamp with Sarah – an extremely talented UK Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator.

I needed to make a baby card for a former Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator and friend who has recently had a gorgeous baby girl and decided to make my card using Sarah’s sketch.Strawberry-Sketches-SS007.jpgStarting with a sketch is often easier as it gives you a basis for an idea and if it’s going well I make two at the same time – one to give and one to add to my stash.

I’ve used the Made with Love stamp set and teamed it up with paper from the Playful Palette DSP stack. Blushing Bride is perfect for a baby girl card and the little bunny from Made with Love is soooo cute! I’ve also used the Very Vanilla Stitched Satin Ribbon and some Pearl Basic Jewels to dress it up a bit.

Be sure to pop over to Sarah’s blog to be inspired by her work and also the other challenge entries.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend – Angela x

Thank You Kylie

Tonight at 8.30 Kylie Bertucci’s International Stampin’ Up!® Blog Highlight goes live and I’m pleased to be a part of it.25399cf2-e819-4b90-a81b-8423f734d14c.jpgThe theme is Random Act of Kindness – Encouragement, which is so positive and kind – just like Kylie and Bruno. My card is for someone I’ve never met, her name is Priscilla Gunton from Sydney who sent me a RAK card back in July. Her card arrived during the school holidays when I was bedridden with a terrible viral something and it certainly cheered me up!20160825_220353_wm.jpg

I chose the Helping Me Grow stamp set as its words are encouraging and appreciative. I water-coloured the flower in Real Red and used the Real Red Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue – 1 September 2016 – 3 January 2017.

Please pop on over to Kylie’s blog to vote – the TEN projects with the most votes will win a spot on one of Kylie’s international blog hops. Just click on the following link (from 8.30pm NZ time). I’d love to get the opportunity to take part so please vote for me!

Have a fabulous weekend – Angela x

Happy Father’s Day

Today’s card is for the Global Design Project #050 | Sketch Challenge.  Initially I didn’t know what I was going to create but I had the Moroccan Designer Series Paper sitting out on my desk and after a bit of playing around I came up with this card. I think this paper totally lends itself to a masculine card and with Father’s Day on the 4th of September it is perfect timing.sketch Challenge GDP.jpgOnce again I’ve used the Alphabet Labeler and the Balloon Builders stamp sets. The Burlap ribbon has had a little modification – I heated it with my heat tool so the nylon threads running through it shrunk and closed up the gaps.

I also used the new In Colour Enamel Shapes in Dapper Denim in the bottom right hand corner of my card – these enamel shapes are so cute and come in hearts, stars and two circle sizes.

I hope all the dads out there have a great day on the 4th – not doubt spoilt with chocolate and socks (well in our house anyway)!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your week – Angela x

Wonder of Christmas

I know it’s early to be thinking of Christmas in August but with all the gorgeous new goodies in the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalogue is easy to get caught up in the excitement and when I saw the “Wonder of Christmas” stamp set with this cute little angel it went to the top of my list.20160817_100428_wm.jpgAnd although not Christmassy colours I knew the colours in this week’s Global Design Project #049 | Colour Challenge would be perfect for my little angel.Colour Challenge.jpgI added lots of sparkle with the gold Wink of Glitter Stella brush on the tips of her wings and also the background. I painted the stars stamp with the gold glitter and stamped it onto a piece of Shimmery White water colouring cardstock.20160817_171706.jpgI’m really pleased at how it turned out! 20160817_172313.jpgI’m looking forward to making lots of Christmas cards with this lovely set.

Have a fabulous week and see you soon – Angela x

Time to Party GDP!

I love Mondays! The main reason why is because it’s the day the Global Design Project announce another challenge! And this week’s challenge is casing the talented Tanja Kolar. Here’s Tanja’s card:GDP048.jpgThe Balloon Builders and Confetti Celebration stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! were my go to sets to make my card. 20160814_122143_wmI stamped the balloons in Mint Macaron, Dapper Denim and Calyspo Coral to match the striped pieces of the “By the Shore” Designer Series Paper.

The balloons were fussy cut and the middle one raised with dimensionals. I also used dimensionals under the sentiment and the “to”!

I remember showing my husband a card I had made once and asking what he thought of it. His reply it looks great just a little flat! I hadn’t used any dimensionals!
