Weather Together!

Today I’m sharing two cards that apart from the base DSP (Floral Boutique) are exactly the same but look quite different.GDP055 Theme.jpg

As soon as I saw the GDP challenge this week I knew I’d use my recently acquired Weather Together stamp set and Umbrella Weather framelits dies. The sentiments in this set are perfect for letting someone know you are there for them.

Sadly a friend’s marriage has broken up and she’s in so much pain right now I just want to do something to let her know I’m here for her and that it will get better. It might not seem like that now but she’s a beautiful person inside and out and I know she’ll get through this. Being a child of divorce I understand it from that point of view but thankfully my parents never said a bad word about each other and in the years before my father’s death, him, my mother & stepfather were good friends and we all shared celebrations together.  Unfortunately all too-often the children are used as pawns and why oh why do the fathers have so much trouble paying child support – I know not all men are like this but I do hear it a lot!20160930_102939.jpg

On a lighter note and a little tip …. if I stamp and cut out any images that I don’t end up using I pop them into the stamp set case for another day!

Yay it’s Friday and it’s the holidays and I’m spending the day in my craft room.

Enjoy your weekend – Angela x

GDP #054 | Sketch Challenge

20160925_152904_wm.jpg

This week’s Global Design Project #GDP054 is a sketch challenge and is designed by the talented Teneale Williams. I love sketch challenges and in fact any time I’m struggling to create a card I look at sketches to give me inspiration.

I wanted to use the angel from the Wonder of Christmas stamp set again – I think she’s as cute as a little button and being able to be coloured to match any DSP makes “Wonder of Christmas” a versatile set. The paper I’ve used is from the Presents and Pinecones Designer Series.20160925_153229I stamped the image onto the Shimmery White paper and coloured her in with aqua markers and ink to co-ordinate with the DSP. Even though the white cardstock is shimmery I added a touch more with the Clear Wink of Stella Pen.

Make sure you pop over to Global Design Project for lots of inspiration.

I’m thrilled to say I was picked again as a Global Design Project winner last week!  Amazing what gives you a spring in your step!GDP_Winner_Badge_01.pngIt’s school holidays here for two weeks and although I’ll still be working things will be a bit more cruisy around here – yay!

Have a fabulous week – Angela x

GDP #053 | Colour Challenge

20160918_124822_wm

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog! My card today is for the Global Design Project #053 | Colour Challenge. I really struggled to come up with my design – I don’t know why night of navy is my favourite colour and teamed with gold and watermelon wonder it’s a match made in heaven.

Colour Challenge.jpgThe large flower in the Birthday Blooms stamp set is perfect for water colouring and as I’ve mentioned before it doesn’t need to be uniform – in fact I think the more “patchy” the better!20160918_124925.jpgI also ran the gold card stock through the Big Shot with a piece of glimmer paper so it roughed it up a bit and the gold thread underneath the flower tied it all together.

So despite a rough start I think it turned out okay!

Enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week – Angela x

Congrats Baby!

20160911_091910_wm

Yay for Sunday and having some time in my craft room to make my card for the Global Design Project! This week’s challenge is CASE the Designer and it just happens to be the exceptionally talented Teneale Williams. Teneale’s cards are gorgeous and always have that extra something about them that make you swoon! challenge-case-teneale-williams

I used the Baby’s First Framelit Dies and Cottage Greetings too, I just opted for a different colour way. I’m planning on spending a few hours in my craft room today so I may make a few more of these cards (in other colours too) so I have a handy little stash when I need them.

Have a fabulous Sunday – Angela x

Food Glorious Food!

20160904_182900_wm.jpgWith Christmas just around the corner all attention seems to go to food and what is any celebration without food? My Holiday Catalogue Launch Party is tomorrow night so today I’ve been busy preparing a demonstration or two, a make ‘n’ take, displays and gifts.

And these items are perfect for this week’s Global Design Project #051 | Theme Challenge  – Food!GDP051 Theme.jpgThe Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper is designed around treats especially gingerbread houses and is used in my make and take card. It is an easy one – apart from the fussy cutting of the gingerbread house which I pre-cut for my guests. The card I’ll demonstrate will be more complicated. I’ll also demonstrate how to make the Ferrero Rocher holder – isn’t it cute? And the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine and the Mini Jingle Bells packaged on the Lots of Labels Framelit is an attendee gift.

I’m so excited to be showing the new Holiday Catalogue and getting my customers in the Christmas spirit!20160904_182517_wm.jpg
