Okay so I’m going for the sympathy vote here – I’ve got a cold and I’ve had a crazy week! It’s been the school holidays here and usually I take a bit of time off to spend with the girls but these holidays snuck up on me and I didn’t book out any time so it’s been business as usual! The girls have been amazing and managed to keep themselves occupied and help me out too! I was pleased that after sport and work today I managed some time in my craft room to potter around making thank you gifts and my card for the Global Design Project #033 | Colour Challenge.
I love the colour combination, it’s so fresh and smart. I decided to use another of my new Stampin’ Up!® stamp sets I received at On Stage – Confetti Celebration. It has lots of funky birthday stamps with endless possibilities! So here’s my card:
I also used a couple oldies but goodies – the Circles Collection Framelits and Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon, which are both retiring at the end of May.
I’m off now to blob on the couch for the evening, my heart wants to stamp but my mind and body want to rest – two against one!
See you again soon – Angela x
This week’s challenge for Global Design Project #gdp032 is “Case the Designer” and the talented Krista Frattin is the Designer being “CASEd” (Copy And Selectively Edit). It’s daunting when someone’s whose talent and cards you admire will be looking at your creation! Here’s is my card – I’ve used the same DSP – Birthday Bouquet (as it’s my favourite it was an easy decision)!I stamped the large flower image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and water coloured the leaves in Old Olive then selected the ones I wanted and adhered them to the back of the oval. I also used the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen on the leaves to add a bit of light. There is a small piece of a silver Metallic Foil Doily on the bottom right of the oval and silver Metallic Thread under the leaves. And if you are wondering where the gorgeous little sentiment came from – it’s from a new set called Mixed Borders which is in the new catalogue.
I was lucky enough to receive several stamp sets at Stampin’ Up’s!® recent On Stage event (they are such a generous company) so I’ll be back soon with some new ideas!
Take care Angela x
Yes I’m running terribly late with this challenge but I’m going to make it!
This was my card for On Stage swaps and it luckily tied in with this week’s Global Design Project theme of Nature.
I’m also doubling up on challenges this week as The Paper Players challenge is Clean and Simple theme : Butterflies.I love butterflies and the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set is one of my favourites with 11 unique and versatile stamps. I also used the Cottage Greetings as I love the font used in this set. I went with the Typeset Specialty DSP which is Basic Black and Very Vanilla and teamed it up with Bermuda Bay and gold accessories.
I had a fantastic time at On Stage – lots of energy and excitement – it’s so contagious! I turned into a bit of a stalker and caught up with Shannon West and Paula Dobson. They were both so kind and gracious. I’ll be back as soon as I can to do a post dedicated to On Stage.
See you soon Angela x
Kylie Bertucci has another International Stampin’ Up!® Blog Highlight and this time the theme is Love!
As many of you will know the Birthday Bouquet DSP is my favourite so I thought I’d take my colours from it.
And if you are wondering how I got my jagged edge, I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. It took a bit of juggling but I got there in the end!
So please pop over to Kylie’s blog and check out all the fabulous entries and remember to vote (for me haha). Here’s the link http://www.craftykylie.com/2016/04/international-blog-highlight-theme-love.html.
Take care Angela x
Hi Everyone today I’ve got my card for the Global Design Project #030 | Sketch Challenge. I’m probably going to be banned from linking any more cards after this one as I’ve totally turned this around and made it a landscape version! Here’s the sketch –
This is one of Teneale Williams sketches and as she is known for being a “rule breaker” (her own words) I’m hoping she’ll back me up here!As you can see my idea just wasn’t going to fit on a portrait card! I stamped the greenery (from the Floral Wings Hostess set) over the butterflies and then popped them up with dimensionals – I’m fairly careful with how many I use so I don’t need as many packets as Bruno Bertucci!
Also I wanted to spread out my sentiment so I stamped the Birthday first and then lined up the Happy and stamped that (the Happy Birthday is from Cottage Greetings)! I also used Crystal Effects on the little flowers. If my card gets kicked off the GDP I’ll be making another quick smart!
Have a great rest of the week and see you again soon – Angela x
